Who Can Tell Me The Original Members Of The Justice League Comics And Secondary Characters?
Posted by: akka in Justice League Q&A, tags: Characters, Comics, Justice, League, Members, Original, Secondary, TellI’m looking for research on who are the original and founding members of the Justice League. I’m familiar with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Flash. But I believe there are secondary characters that are attributed to keeping the league intact.
Of all the books and internet sites; there is varied discussion of who is in or out of the league, but I figured someone who know on here.
Secondly, I’m also looking for clear graphics or pictures of their logo’s as I’m thinking of having tattoos inked on my leg.
Thanks to anyone who can help. Thanks.

The original members were J’onn J’onzz (Martian Manhunter), Aquaman, Wonder Woman,Green Lantern, Flash, Superman and Batman. They teamed up after fighting a group of aliens from the world of Appellax. They also had a mascot called “Snapper” Carr.
Over the years, other members joined. They include: Green Arrow, the Atom, Hawkman, Black Canary, the Elongated Man, the Red Tornado, Hawkwoman, Zatanna, Firestorm, Gypsy, Steel, Vibe, Vixen, Dr. Fate, Blue Beetle, Mr. Miracle, Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Captain Marvel, Dr. Light II, Rocket Red, Maxwell Lord, Booster Gold, Creeper, Oberon, Captain Atom, Red Rocket 4, Green Flame (Fire), Icemaiden (Ice), Animal Man, Flash (Wally West), Metamorpho, Big Barda, Power Girl, Huntress, Crimson Fox, Orion, Light Ray, Blue Jay, Silver Sorceress, General Glory, Bloodwynd, Maxima, The Ray, Maya, Tasmanian Devil, Nuklon, Obsidian, Ice Mainden II, Artemis, Blue Devil, Mystek, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Tomorrow Woman, Green Arrow (Connor Hawke), Aztek, Plastic Man, Zauriel, Manitou Raven, Major Disaster, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Black Lightning, Red Arrow, Hawkgirl
There are a few others who were members of the Justice Leagua Antarctica, but they are best left alone.
The previous poster is right when it comes to the original founding. Just to note, in case it matters to you, only Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Flash showed up in the first issue. Snapper Carr was introduced and helped them fight off Starro the Conqueror. The League’s founding was detailed in a later issue.
DC has retconned thefounding to have Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Aquaman, and Flash (Barry Allen) be the founding members in “JLA: Year One”. Green Arrow helped finance them (secretly) and Snapper Carr plays a very minor role helping them set up their headquarters.
As for logos, here are the three that come to my mind:

and from a few years go (including JLA: Year One)http://www.darkknight.ca/images/comics/j…
The colours change(d) all the time, depending what’s on the cover, but there are the designs. If your interested in the Justice League, I suggest you pick up Showcase Presents: Justice League of America, which reprints the Justice League’s first issues (volume one has issue 1 and the issue detailing the founding).
