rule of thumb whatever you saw or heard first will always be your favorite no matter what came first ………………………..
but i do agree with you the new one sucks
Batman: the animated series and Justice League are better.
Even my 9 year old nephew likes it better. I think kids will reject the new Batman show when Batman:TAS and Superman: TAS go to Jetix on Toon Disney in a couple of days.
This is going to seem off the wall, but I think the best cartoon adaption of Batman (and Robin) was ‘Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse’. The storyboard for that early sixties cartoon were done by Bob Kane, the artist who was the co-creator of Batman, and he apparently had some influence on the scripts too. Despite having anthropomorphic characters, ‘Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse’ came off as an adventure series, and a well choreographed and written one at that.
I agree that ‘Batman: the Animated Series’ was and is far better than any of the current made for television cartoons featuring any of the DC characters.
I’d say batman…because the batman looks a little cheesy. Also, Justice League….because it has more cool fights.
personally i like Batman, and JL, simply because with those series, the loosened the reigns a little bit, and let Bruce Timm go, and the result was the greatest animated universe ever. HOWEVER, The Batman, despite being different, isnt that bad, but because its CW(WB), there are some restraints, and legion is terrible, absolutely horrible.
You forgot Teen Titans, despite not being part of the DCAU, OR Timms universe, the writing was excellent, and it was nice to see a real change in animation styles.
Believe it or not, the origin of Mr. Freeze was created in the animated series back in 1992.
The thing with The Batman and Legion of Superheroes is that they are directed to the children of today’s world. Of course it’s going to be different than what we grew up with.
I was with you in the beginning about these show not being very faithful to the story but you have to think about that. NONE of the incarnations of Batman were true to the mythos. Not even the stories in the Timmverse were true to its sources. They’ve changed so much in terms of characters but they’ve made it their own. The same is true with these new shows. It’s there own interpretation of what the character could be.
Its better to give us diverse stories because if they were all the same, it would get boring.
Now as for your question, I grew up with Kevin Conroy as Batman so he’s always going to be the Batman to me. However I stopped comparing the Batman: The Animated Series to The Batman because they are too different from each other.
i think that all the cartoons are good they are the same but updated thats all if you are a fan of the seris then you should be a fan no matter how they many changes they make as long as they stay true to the character u know the stroy of batman bruce wayne
each of those batmans are in their own universes. much like how comic books have different universes or realities.
oh and you forgot batman beyond and adam west as batman.
